Logging in to Twitter enables you to download private/community/circle/promotion media.

You can change user settings by running HiRes Twitter from the Shortcuts app.

You can save media to anywhere in Photo Albums, iCloud Drive or On My Device.

Since Twitter stores submitted GIFs as mp4, this shortcut uses the same algorithm as Better GIF Maker’s to obtain maximum GIF quality (optional).

GIFs can be downloaded as GIF and/or mp4.

Images are downloaded at up to 8K (for comparison, the Twitter app is limited to 4K).

This may not work on private tweets, though.

Alternatively you can tap the share button, tap ‘Share via’, then select HiRes Twitter.

Long-press a tweet’s share button, then select HiRes Twitter from the list.

Optionally it needs the free a-Shell mini app for downloading highest quality GIFs or setting the media date to the date tweeted. IOS 14 or later and the free Scriptable app are required. It can download multiple media types in a single tweet. HiRes Twitter can download media from public/ private/ community/ circle/ promotion tweets at the highest quality, save to Photos or Files or share.
